FBA vs FBM Repricing

Amazon treats FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon) and FBM (Fulfilled by Merchant) sellers differently when deciding who wins the Buy Box. Repricefy accounts for this automatically.

How Amazon's Buy Box algorithm works

The Buy Box considers (among other factors):

  • Price (including shipping)
  • Fulfillment method (FBA has an advantage)
  • Seller rating
  • Handling time (how fast you ship)
  • Delivery speed

FBA sellers have a built-in advantage. Amazon trusts its own warehouses for fast, reliable delivery. So an FBA seller at $25.00 often beats an FBM seller at $24.00.

What this means for repricing

If you're FBA

  • You can price slightly higher than FBM competitors and still win the Buy Box
  • Repricefy knows this and won't unnecessarily undercut FBM sellers

If you're FBM

  • You need to price lower than FBA competitors to compensate for the fulfillment disadvantage

How Repricefy handles fulfillment

Repricefy is “fulfillment-aware.” This means:

  1. It knows your fulfillment type (FBA or FBM) for each product
  2. It adjusts undercuts based on competitor fulfillment:
    • Competing against FBA? Undercut more aggressively (they have the advantage)

  3. OOS handling differs:
    • FBM + supplier OOS → qty set to 0 (can't fulfill)

FBA + FBM on every plan
